Heidi, Seal, and Cubs Hop From One Vacation to Another
Heidi Klum, Seal, and the kids looked adorably touristy with all their camera bags and fresh tans arriving at LAX yesterday after another vacation. From slopes to sand, these five have had quite the series of Winter trips so far. Speaking of trips, I thought last night's prom-dress episode of Project Runway was hilarious and awesome. My favorite challenge this season, and maybe in the top few ever. Heidi looked particularly fabulous, to boot. My favorite dress won (yay), while the person who was eliminated definitely messed up. I can't believe we're basically halfway done with the season already. Check out Buzz's recap of last night's high-school madness. To see more of Heidi, Seal, and all the little ones just read more .
SYRIA AND SYRIAN-CONTROLLED LEBANON
The book blamed Hafez al-Asad, then minister of defense, for the military defeat at the hands of Israeli forces in June 1967. After Brayez's sentence expired in August 1985, his family lost contact with him and his whereabouts were unknown for several years. In November 1991, Middle East Watch received reports that he was being held in the general wing of al-Mezze prison in Damascus. New political prisoners in 1991 include four members of the Workers Revolutionary Party and twenty-nine from the Arab Socialist Union Party (ASU). They were arrested even though the parties themselves are legal, apparently because they had distributed leaflets criticizing the Baath Party's monopoly of power. Among the ASU members arrested were Ahmed al-Khatib, a lawyer; his son, Tha'ir; and Najib al-Derdem, also a jurist.
Dam's backers appeal to public
Call it a "what-if?" campaign. Shaken by the pessimistic estimates in a federal study on the Black Rock reservoir, backers of the huge dam east of Yakima are taking the offensive in asking the public to consider what happens if the dam isn't built. Backers also are urging them to respond by commenting on the report before a March 31 deadline. The comments will be considered when a final environmental report and final recommendations are issued to Congress. The specter of climate change and more frequent droughts will threaten the local economy, according to the Yakima Basin Storage Alliance, the grass-roots group that supports the 1.6 million acre-foot reservoir as the solution to agriculture, fish and municipal water needs. Sid Morrison, a former congressman and alliance chairman, said the bureau study -- a draft environmental impact statement -- failed to consider all of the benefits the dam in the Black Rock Valley would provide.
Tide Turns To Positive as E-mails Flood Town Offices in Support of ...
The most obvious thing I note is that loutravieso him/herself hasn't managed to make it all the way through either the Constitution or the Declaration. For that matter, he obviously didn't understand the portion of the Declaration quoted in the article. He advocates arrest and imprisonment based on Ideas. Not to mention that little side trip to HELL. His attitude is in clear violation of the Constitution he challenges US to understand and he espouses the exact sort of behaviour which prompted the founding fathers to commission Jefferson to write the declaration in the first place. .
3 Men Become Heroes In St. Landry Parish
A dramatic rescue Thursday, in St. Landry Parish, when a vehicle, with four people inside, plunged into the water. Three men went from bystander to hero, in a matter of seconds. Around 3:30 Thursday afternoon a truck drove off the highway and into the Bayou Teche. That's when the trio of men, all driving by at the time of the crash, jumped in. More >> .
